The main hypotheses to be tested in this study were as follow ; Hypothesis 1) The patient groups are the higher in the basic needs than the normal groups. Hypothesis 2) The basic needs will not make a great difference between the patient male and female group. Hypothesis 3) There is a need of facing each other characteristic tendency between in the nurse group and patient groups. Hypothesis 4) The basic needs of all groups show a characteristic tendencies. Hypothesis 5) Need for Affiliation and Acheievment are the highest tendency in the all patient groups patient 224 patients (general male 88, female 76, patient of Army hospital 60), 62 nurses, and 60 nursing school students were randompled and they sampled and they were administered, need diagnostic test developed by Dr. Jung-Ku Hwang 1965 of Korea University. The test is consited of 9 basic needs of Abasement, Achievement, Affiliation, Aggression, Dominality, Exhibition, Sex and Autonomy. Group means and standard and deviation of 9 needs of five groups were calculated respectively and CR-test was used to test and compare group differences of needs. The main findings of this study were as follows ; 1) The finding revealed that need for Aggression was the highest need in the normal group(student of nursing school), need for Exhibition was the highest need in the nurse group and need for Abasement was the highest need in the male and female patient groups. 2) The results from this comparative analysis have sustanted the proposed hypotheses satisfactorily, but have denied the proposed hypotheses. 3) A significant level was Abasement p>.001, Autonomy p>.001 in comparison between the female normal and patient groups (table# 6), Emotionality and Autonomy p>.10, but remainder p>.001 in comparison between the normal female and patientmale groups (table#7), Achievement p>.02, Dominance p>.01, Emotionality p>.004, Sex p>.01 in the comparison between the patient male and female groups (table # 8), Abasement and sex p>.001, Aggression p>.01 in comparison between the nurse and male patient group (table #9) and Abasement p>.002, Autonomy p>.003 in the comparison between male patient of Army hospital (table # 10). Each factor shows significant.
